ANNEX 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
General
The area covered by the licensable activities authorised by this licence, are shown in the area edged in blue on the attached plan, with the exception of the castle shop.
The only licensable activity authorised in the castle shop, is the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises.
During events where alcohol is available, the access to the ramparts of the Keep will be strictly out of bounds and will be closed to the public for their safety.
All staff are trained in customer relations. Health and Safety training is provided for all staff on site. A site disaster plan is kept in the visitor centre at all times as are the risk assessments and fire risk assessment. Specific risk assessments are written for all events that take place on site.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
All events will be adequately staffed and monitored by English Heritage staff. In addition, during summer theatre events, front of house staff will be supplied by the relevant theatre company. If large numbers of people are expected to attend and/or the event includes the use of blackpowder/pyrotechnics the local police will be informed.
Public Safety
All events are covered by written risk assessments and, where additional staff are used, by written health and safety briefings. At least one qualified first aider will be on duty during all events and where the need arises (ie during battle re enactments) additional first aid cover will be contracted via St Johns Ambulance Service or the Red Cross. All electrical equipment must have current PAT test certification.
The Prevention of a Public Nuisance
Most events will take place on site during normal daylight opening hours. Where events happen in the evening and include music, either live or recorded, noise levels will be restricted so as to cause minimum disturbance to local residents
The Protection of Children from Harm
All children must be accompanied by an adult when on site. In addition staff are aware of the English Heritage written policy on child welfare. Staff adopt a proof of age scheme.
